Welcome to Menu Explained ("App"), a service provided by Mentioned In, LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"). By using this App, you agree to the following Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you subscribe through in-app purchases, additional terms from Apple may also apply.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under 18, you must have the consent of a parent or guardian to use the App and accept these Terms.

3. Account Creation and Security

  • You may need to create an account to access certain features.

  • You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and agree not to share them.

  • Notify us immediately of unauthorized use of your account.

4. License to Use the App

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

5. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for illegal or unauthorized purposes.

  • Upload or interact with content in a way that violates any applicable laws or these Terms.

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App.

6. In-App Purchases

Menu Explain offers optional in-app purchases in the form of Scan Credits, which are used to scan and translate food menus. Each scan consumes one (1) Scan Credit.

Billing and Payment

Scan Credits can be purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Your account will be charged upon confirmation of purchase. In-app purchases may not be available in all countries or regions and are subject to the terms and conditions of the respective store.

Use of Credits

Each menu scan requires one (1) Scan Credit. Credits are consumable, non-refundable, and tied to your Menu Explain account. They may not be sold, resold, transferred, or exchanged for cash or other value. We may occasionally offer free or promotional Scan Credits, which may be subject to additional terms and may expire if not used within a specified timeframe.

Credit Expiration

Scan Credits may expire after a period of inactivity or at the end of a defined promotional period. Any expiration terms will be clearly communicated at the time of credit issuance or purchase.

Account Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining access to your account and ensuring that your Scan Credits are used appropriately. Menu Explain is not responsible for any unauthorized access or loss of credits resulting from compromised account credentials.

Refunds

All purchases are final and non-refundable, except as required by applicable law. If you experience issues with a purchase made through the App Store or Google Play, please contact the respective store’s support team directly.

Pricing Changes

We may update pricing for Scan Credits or other offerings at any time. Price changes will apply only to future purchases and will not affect previously purchased credits.

7. Menu Information

The App provides descriptions, translations, and related information about menu items. This information is generated using a combination of automated systems and third-party data.

  • We do not control or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of the information displayed.

  • Allergen and calorie information provided by the App is estimated and should not be relied upon for health or dietary decisions. These estimates are generated automatically and may not reflect the actual ingredients or nutritional content of the dish. Always consult restaurant staff or official sources if you have dietary restrictions or allergies.

  • Dish photos shown in the App are for reference only and may not accurately represent the actual dish served.

8. Intellectual Property

  • All content within the App, except third-party contributions (e.g., Google images), is owned by the Company or licensed to it.

  • You may not use the content for any purpose other than as intended within the App.

9. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties about its reliability, availability, or fitness for any particular purpose.

11. Third-Party Content

The App displays photos and information sourced from Google and other third parties. We do not control, endorse, or verify this content and disclaim any responsibility for it.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Company is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses resulting from your use of the App or breach of these Terms.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at our sole discretion, without prior notice, if you violate these Terms.

15. Dispute Resolution
